In 2018 Jacob, along with a team of collaborators including INVANTI and Code Works, created and hosted Sampled: A gathering of people who get shit done in the Rust Belt.
They developed sessions focused on adaptive building reuse, civic innovation, entrepreneurship, and art hosted inside Vested Interest and Langlab, two former industrial buildings being transformed into small business and art hubs on the South East side of downtown South Bend. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner featured six local food businesses including Embassy Coffee, Baker & Rose, and The Beard & The Boss.
In addition to developing the physical space and session directions, Jacob worked with Helen Cramer and Jules Delee to create a brand that is aspirational while remaining grounded in the Rust Belt. Manifestations of the brand included a site, tees, stickers, coffee cups, and a stage background.
